Hannah and Blossom played high school ball at two of the traditional powers (Lafayette HS and St. Joseph Academy) in the St. Louis area. I'm certain they played against each other a number of times. Blossom may have been able to give Russ some insight about Flowers.
Perhaps I'm too easily amused but I think it's funny that Penn State will have two St. Louis players on the roster named Flowers and Blossom -- and they'll be playing for a guy named Rose.

Sorry I have to maintain an objective viewpoint. It's exciting a new grad transfer will be coming to Penn State. However while she was at Memphis the team was 38-52. So that's a team in the bottom half of a relatively weak conference. Will she be one of the top players in the nation or even in the B1G to help take Penn State to the final four? If Penn State has to rely on transfers does that mean the recruiting of prep players is no longer what it use to be? I think Russ is willing to bring in a grad transfer for her experience. He has a couple of hitters coming in as freshmen, who while clearly talented, lack that all important experience.

Blossom and St. Joseph’s Academy beat Flowers 2-0 twice early in the 2016 season (when Blossom was a junior and Flowers was a senior) before Flowers and Lafayette won 2-1 later that fall during the playoffs. Blossom led her team to a state championship the following season before heading to Penn State.

I didn't feel like doing the research, but I guess that's why you get paid the big bucks.

Pretty soon they'll be saying they want to get paid what Ethan is paid, and that will inevitably lead to philosophical discussions about the meaning of zero compared to less-than-zero. Believe me, once stirred to action, the Slacker Staff can be fearsome in their determination.

Welcome, Hannah, Hope you end your career with a championship. Do the players read this forum? If so, Hannah, you're joining an exciting group of players who have every chance of going all the way to the Championship this year. Great choice! In answer to your inquiry, I do not have any idea if the players read this forum. I hope they do, and if they do, and my suspicions are correct, then in all probability they are not allowed to post on this or any volleyball site. After all, if a computer illiterate such as myself found this site, I am sure college students that grew up with computers would have no problem finding it.

Penn State received a late addition to its 2020 recruiting class earlier this month in College Park, Georgia, native Samantha McCool, who attended Woodward Academy and also played for Tsunami Volleyball Club. The 5-foot-7 McCool is likely going to be a defensive specialist for head coach Russ Rose, though it’s currently unclear which position she will fill for the Nittany Lions upon her arrival this summer. McCool joins Annie Cate Fitzpatrick, Macy Van Den Elzen, and Maddy Bilinovic in Penn State's incoming freshman class. www.dignittanyvolleyball.com/samantha-mccool-commits-to-penn-state-volleyballs-2020-recruiting-class/

I am concerned about the lack of rumors and actual commitments for the class of 2022 which in theory will replace a significant number of key Players - both middies, the Libero and the opposite hitter to start
Seems Russ is trying to get a more balanced approach vs putting a high percentage of scholarships in one class but this class will still likely have 6 or so Student athletes including multiple middles and hitters
The lack of news is not very encouraging - have a feeling that we are seeing what has happened on the men’s side to the women’s

It is currently the recruiting dead period. It recently was extended to August 31. During the dead period a coach is prohibited from having any conversations with potential recruits. Not much happening with recruiting until September.
