That other site: saying all OSU is now following Hord. I'm with Coach Rose and Coach Katie on recruiting/transfers (not specific to Kaitlyn Hord): you want players who want to be on your team. If Kaitlyn transfers, clearly she no longer wants to be at Penn State. She's exceptionally talented, so from a talent-on-hand perspective, clearly a loss. But if she's tired of Penn State Women's Volleyball, then she should leave, full stop. KSC will move on, someone else will step in -- perhaps not as talented, but fully-committed to the program. I'm fine with that. |

In a normal (non-COVID) year, Hord, Blossom and Hampton would be done with their eligibility, anyway. If they have a chance to play more volleyball while pursuing a grad degree at another school, good for them. Sometimes it's smart to get your grad degree from a school other than the once at which you earned your undergrad diploma. Fitzpatrick wants to play closer to home? Fine. Let's focus on who remains on the roster and who we can get to supplement returning talent.

Let's hope that the coaching change doesn't impact Chloe's verbal commitment to Penn State. Somewhere I saw an interview from November or so, in which Chloe made reference to "Coach Katie." So I'm hopeful (obviously not certain) that the bond is strong. |

PSU fans might think about posting positive comments on Chloe and Alexa's social media. Share our excitement about them and their awards. Let them know how we cannot wait. Positive reinforcement cannot hurt.

There was a comment about a setter at Auburn in the portal comparing her to Carlini. That post seems to have been deleted.
Any setter in the same league talent wise as Carlini is a once in a decade type player. I recall when Carlini first announced her commitment to Wisconsin I had no idea who she was. At SoCal club tournaments I kept talking to parents of elite hitters saying they were now considering Wisconsin when before they hadn't given a cold weather college any consideration. |
