There was a comment about a setter at Auburn in the portal comparing her to Carlini. That post seems to have been deleted.
Any setter in the same league talent wise as Carlini is a once in a decade type player. I recall when Carlini first announced her commitment to Wisconsin I had no idea who she was. At SoCal club tournaments I kept talking to parents of elite hitters saying they were now considering Wisconsin when before they hadn't given a cold weather college any consideration. That's really interesting. Speaks a lot to Carlini's skill and talent. |

It’s more of a VT urban legend thing at this point. Sacrilege aside, it may be one of the all time great volleyball forum nicknames leading to visceral reactions. You need to get back to work. The current VT hype machine is raging out of control for some players in rather average conferences. At least CJ was objectively very, very good. |

When I posted about Carlini's skill and talent, I knew -- absolutely KNEW -- that nitneliun would respond with "Hancock was better" (which I think was true -- certainly given her impact in the matches they played against each other in college). I would have been disappointed if he did not.  |
