Well our ladies battled them the whole way and prevailed. Now the point is not to let the Euphoria take over and look past Wisconsin.

A magnificent effort by the team. A lot of worry for Regional hosts and 5-8 seeds.
I really hope we don't get seeded with Stanford after this win. The predictions had us seeded #11, I fear we may be moved up to #8/9.
I guess we better throw the Wisky match.

PSU still lacks depth. I fear a different outcome if we would've lost Leath late in the 4th. This is an interesting point. Taylor does a lot for the team much of which would be hard to replace. However, coach went with Cathey at OS2 presumably because Taylor was struggling to score. Cathey is still not consistent, but she held her own on the attack and was credited with two digs (I think Taylor might have set the blocking better but who knows). So we have some depth there. We also have some competent back row players who could fill in that role. Where I think Taylor could not be effectively replaced is in serve receive. She passes very well even though she gets a high percentage of the serves. That said, until other players are asked to do that, we wont know how good they can be at that skill. I suspect that Blossum could do it in a pinch. The other option would be to switch to a two back receive all the time. Both alternatives would completely mess up the substitution pattern. Point is we do have some depth but I am relieved that Taylor was able to continue.

I just cancelled my mani/pedi appointment. I don't have any fingernails or toenails left. Best post of the thread. I did not know there were awards. Some of us might have tried harder.

*knock on wood* If we can beat Wisconsin, maybe we can move up to 6?

*knock on wood* If we can beat Wisconsin, maybe we can move up to 6? That’s exactly what I was thinking. I know they are at home but beating minny and wisky back to back would still be a pretty strong statement to finish year. Think there is very good chance psu finishes ahead of Nebraska if they complete weekend sweep. On other hand if they lose wisky probably moves ahead of them

OMG does anyone hate the argument that we lost but scored more points besides me? Total cumulative points is irrelevant just like in professional sports postseason series. U have to score more then your opponent in so many sets/ games. Overall is irrelevant to me because if u look at it that way one bad set can skew numbers. That’s like a best of 5 series in baseball when one team loses 3-1 and that one win wins like 11-1 or something and the three loses we like 1-0 or 2-1

The freshman middles are beginning to develop a slide attack.
I was going to say something about 2 complete misses between Bryanna and the middles in the last Northwestern match, but saw none of that tonight. Home crowd was great.
Stay positive, we have the momentum now and setting is clicking. Go Lions!

Parker was that good huh? Didn’t watch. But over in volleytalk seems she impressed everyone. Comming out moment I heard She was bigger than life in match, double infinity.

I need to say this now while my mind is relaxed that psu no matter what has had good year. Better then I think most expected including myself. That needed to be said before I get wrapped up in emotions of game and not thinking clearly. My emotions better me more times then I want

I don't see anyone that can replace Taylor in serve receive this year, or for that matter next year. Maybe Jonni Parker. I've seen Emily Sciorra and Cathey back in the 2nd string serve receiving during warmup. Not sure who else.

Wise to remember what the expectations were before the season started. This is an excellent recruiting class that will grow together. Bryanna, Nia, Taylor and Tori helped to bring the group along but the future looks good.
