Has Washington gotten hot at just the wrong time (if you're a Penn State fan)?
Here's brief commentary on just that question from the in-game thread on the Washington-Creighton match from two longtime Washington fans on VT:
In Set 1, CU was up 17-15, only to see UW outscore them 10-2, including the last 6.
In Set 2, CU trailed only 19-18, only to see UW outscore them 6-3.
In Set 3, CU was up 21-18, only to see UW outscore them 7-2, including the last 5.Washington (20-12)
This was a very tight match, except for the last 9 to 12 points.

Washington's problem all season has been serve-receive and lack of consistency.
Tonight their S/R was pretty good and their passing was the best of the season, IMO.
During much of the season they would show spurts of great play, followed by long runs of something far less than great. Tonight, every time - every single time - that Creighton put together a string of points, UW had an answer and stepped up their game. That is a pattern I don't recall seeing once prior to tonight.
Also, McPherson, looks like the in-charge motivator on the court. Something I think most fans would not have believed two years ago. It seemed like nothing was frustrating Creighton more than being in-system hitting some great shots only to have McPherson digging like a John Deere excavator.
