photos seem to reveal not a huge crowd. what's with that? I suppose I could look up stats on their average attendance. This left me puzzled. Clearly, someone is in Rose’s doghouse! I’m hoping it is someone who is moving on through graduation on it won’t carry over to next season’s team.

I also thought the question about Stanford adjustments was a good one and Coach chose to focus on the serving instead of all the other changes Stanford made mid match. Stanford did better in serve receive about mid second set and then our block stopped working. Stanford also adjusted their hitting and several players who were stoned in set one turned things around. Coach seemed pretty disappointed = which is why he wins so much. He sets the highest expectations. All I know is u can’t have a broken locker room. So hopefully it’s been fixed or that player is graduating also Psu gonna be real young again next year and they need right locker room atmosphere to grow together. White will def be the fire and aggression but they also need another who balances that. Fire and agession is great but sometimes what u need is the cool calm collected leader which they may have not had this year. The leader that says already every stop relax calm down for a second breathe. Followed by motivation talk. I love white man do I love white but her gear is set on turbo all the time. Need a breaker that can stop everything that’s happening and reset

I was referring more to team of faucett harmatto do erico glass brown hodge Wilson teams Dom and micha were leaders in their era for sure Fair enough. Unfortunately, I didn't start watching PSU until 2010 and so missed that whole era. Well I am sad to say you missed out on the greatest volleyball team ever, from 2008 to 2009 that had to be the best volleyball team ever. In 2008 they only lost 2 sets all year and unfortunately that was against Nebraska, They were down 10 to 8 in the fifth and came back with Nicole Fawcett at the service line. It was 14 to 11 and I'll never forget Karch saying he would't count Nebraska out yet. Guess he was wrong.

That was most dominant team in the history of women’s college volleyball It was literally like space jam after they stole the talent. They could kill at Will from every position on the floor and had one of the biggest team blocks I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t get anything over that wall. They were all huge. They literally didn’t have a bad hitter anywhere on floor it was a all American starting lineup and they had all Americans as bench players. It was insane.

If You get a chance you should go a pull up some video on it. Don’t think U will ever see anything quite like it again. Game has changed

They are what many may classify as just unfair. They are the bar that I don’t think anyone will every reach cause game has changed. Don’t think will we ever see a team like that again. That team could take out national teams. Every arm on psu side of net was power and they were huge players. Think guarding Plummer is hard try having 5 of her on same side of net as opposition. Every starter on that team outside maybe libero could get the ball on floor at will

It's time to admit it folks. The head coach of the Penn State Women's Volleyball team is a grumpy old man. Yes, he is the most successful coach in the history of the sport, but he is still a grumpy old man and a sore loser.
The explanation that he is honest with his team simply does not explain the public denigration of them and their efforts. It's hard to believe that any prospective recruit would be drawn toward a program headed by such a curmudgeon.
Are there any among you who go back twenty or more years as fans who followed the program closely. (I have been a fan throughout, but never had the means to follow closely until the advent of the internet.) Was Russ Rose always this acerbic, or is this a more recent development and suggestive that it may be time for him to sit at home and keep people off his lawn?

I think people are confusing competitiveness with grumpiness or ego. I love the fact that Russ still has that competitive fire burning inside him. Anyone who's listened to his pressers knows that he loves his players and gives them kudos and props when they play well. Also, we all know that he'll call out players when they don't do what's expected.
He's also taken the blame for bad coaching many times and never takes credit for big wins, but always gives the players credit.
Russ is demanding and his teams are always in the mix to play in the finals. HE is the only sure thing in this PSU program. Stanford will always have the academic allure, and Nebraska the allure of the large crowds. I'm afraid that when Russ is gone, PSU will go the way of so many other average programs. That is when we, the fans, will realize what we lost.
