Wisconsin up 24-22 in set 4, but Marquette challenging the call. And it's reversed, 23-up! Tied at 26 and 27 Wisconsin up, 28-27--but another Marquette Challenge. And another reversal--Marquette up 28-27. Tied at 28. Tied at 29. And 30 Marquette wins 32-30. Going 5.
I'm upset because my Fubo.TV subscription stopped showing the match at the beginning of the 4th. Inexcusable.
A strongly worded message to your provider is merited. |

We'll see. I need to see a little more. It's still to early. Although, Marquette looked impressive.
Also, I'm not sold on Wisconsin. They have a way of collapsing. WI overrated.

I think Wisconsin is a top two team in the country. Rettke might be the most valuable college player in the country. However, I am old school and get turned off by her excessive celebration on every play she makes. I would like to see her tone it down a bit but that's just me and my personality. You mean that's not named Kathryn Plummer?  |

I'm fine with celebration as long as it isn't directed (e.g. pointing) at the opposing team, or causes your team to lose focus. It's a game. In college, there aren't that many. For me, it's OK to enjoy them. I remember the 2007 to 2009 era for PSU, when Penn State got an ace (maybe also a block?) all the bench players would do this helicopter/windmill kind of dance. I could easily see other teams and fans absolutely hating that. But it wasn't directed at them, it was all about the PSU team. So I can see pennstate2973's point, but for the most part, I have a different take. Unless, of course, it's a team that is beating Penn State 😊

As to Wisconsin's prospects, I agree with PennState1973. Rettke is a tremendous offensive force, and has a good hard serve. She still needs to be a little quicker on the block, but she will be the most valuable player on a team that has lots of good talent. That more than anything else makes Marquette's victory so impressive. Clearly Marquette is a team on the rise. It was a really fun match-I refused my wife's demands to switch to the Packers/Bears- |
