The B1G is having a tough weekend. Wisconsin has two losses, Minnesota has another loss, and Illinois loss. And that's just the start of the weekend.
Lot of parity going on.

Rough week for #B1G Volleyball.
No. 4 Wisconsin lost to No. 11 Marquette (2-3) & No. 17 Baylor (1-3).
No. 5 Illinois lost to No. 16 Washington (2-3).
No. 8 Minnesota lost to No. 3 Texas (0-3) & also got swept by Florida State last week.
No. 14 Michigan lost to Missouri (0-3).

No. 18 Purdue lost to Notre Dame (2-3).
RV Iowa lost to Colorado (0-3).
RV Maryland lost to UT-RGV (2-3). Yikes.
No. 2 Nebraska and No. 6 Penn State are the only B1G teams in the poll who haven't lost this week. Nebraska has No. 25 San Diego and PSU has LSU tomorrow.

It just goes to show preseason polls are fine for the fans, But just an estimate of a team, Until a true body of work comes into view you are just guessing how good a team is. If you would have asked me after the first 10 minutes of PSU v Iowa State match if they belonged in the top 10 I would have said no, Ask me the same question post match " HELL YES "

I had the same thoughts while I watched the ISU game. Be VERY worried. |

That's really too bad. I feel for the Illini. Has Micah Allision started playing yet? Also, I think they're still missing 2 other starters. One of those starters, Bruna, is supposed to be a game changer.

Allison played RS with Brown as their setter. Bruna was subbed in as well. Quade, or ILL for that matter, is probably missing Poulter right now. Come to think of it, any team needs a Poulter to elevate them to a top10 team. |

All of the games on the Saturday list, except for Nebraska - San Diego are completed (as of 11:30 PM EDT). Nebraska and San Diego have each won a set.
I'm calling it a night.

Texas up 10-7 in the 4th. Stanford leading 2-1. Stanford hitting .398 after 3 and Texas hitting .250 This with a pretty lousy set by Stanford in the 1st, losing 25-17. I thought Texas was toast after the 3rd but they've upped their game in the 4th and Stanford has downed their game.  |
