Gotta agree. Louisville is a good team I think, but their ranked wins are Kentucky, a good team but not a great team, Purdue, who hit .124 against Louisville and Nebraska, who hit .046 against Louisville. Pittsburg's ranked wins are against Rice, no longer in the top 25, Washington St, no longer in the top 25, Baylor, who may be a decent team eventually. Purdue and Nebraska are, I think, considerably overanked, as neither team's OH's are doing zip. Nebraska is having difficulty with serve receive and serving. Nebraska's serving in prior years has usually put pressure on their opponents, but doesn't seem to be doing that this year. Louisville had 5 aces against Nebraska and Nebraska only had 1 ace. Lexi Sun baffles me. I thought, going into this year, that she was a hitter on par with Jonni, who would be able get kills even on not so good sets. Maybe she is hurt a bit, or maybe just not as good as I thought she was. (Perish the thought ). It's looking to me like the B1G is a bit down this year. Wisconsin is an excellent team this year, and MINN will be pretty good along with OH ST; OH ST might be an excellent team this year if they improve over last year. Purdue, Nebraska and, I fear, PSU are teams that at best will be in the teens somewhere. I'm thinking that PSU has a good shot against all of the B1G teams except for WISC, MINN and OH St. And on good nites PSU has a chance against MINN and OH St. Looking at the polls earlier on, I was thinking that wins against Nebraska and Purdue would be really hard. But, on the negative side, Nebraska is ALWAYS up for PSU. So, no matter how poorly they play during the year, Nebraska will probably play pretty good against PSU. As some analysts have said, WISC and TX are on a level all their own.

I was baffled by TOSU on Sunday. IIRC they handled NotreDame (NR) easily on Friday on the road; then at home on Sunday which I watched, they played the first set in dominating fashion but ended up with the match going down to the wire. Looked somewhat beatable.

Oregon should be in top 10 Washington should move out of top 10 Penn State should move up 5 places Ohio State should move down 10 places Kentucky, Purdue and Minnesota should all move up 2-3 places I bet Penn State is between 16th and 18th. One thing that seems clear now is that OSU was ranked #3 because of (in order of importance) 1) being undefeated (cross that one off, twice), 2) last season (cross that one off, it's past), and 3) being in the B1G. And I don't mean any disrespect to OSU -- it's a very, very good team. But I'll be very surprised if they end up being a Final Four team (then again, I've been very surprised many times in life, so . . . ).

One thing that is really annoying, is that once teams like Pittsburgh/Louisville get pretty high up, it's almost impossible to move them out as their conference (ACC) is pretty weak. So their only losses tend to be to each other. As you might have guessed, I think both teams are overrated. The AVCA poll doesn't matter all that much, but not infrequently, at the end of the year, the NCAA committee doing the seeding, gives teams too much credit and gives some teams an easy route to the semi-finals (cough cough - Texas).
I remember Missouri being undefeated, seeded #4 and losing to a mid-ranked B1G team (Purdue).

I looked at the ballots. PSU got as high as 5, as low as 24, and left off the ballot cast by Tom Mendoza (SoCar.) What I don't understand is how TX can get 64 votes for 1st when ~10 ballots do not show as having been cast at all. Maybe there's some process that's not shown.
