This is a totally random thought. I feel like this team plays better when they are wearing their sleeveless jerseys. They defeated Minnesota, Stanford, and Purdue in the sleeveless. They also also played one of their best games against Wisconsin in their sleeveless jerseys. Nebraska, Iowa, and 2nd match against Illinois were in long sleeves and they were all out of sorts in those games. They seemed out of sorts last night as well in the long sleeves. I hope to see those sleeveless jerseys against Wisky on Thursday. I'm neurotic btw; more than any character on Seinfeld.

That is such an interesting observation. Hard to know what to make of it. Someone should email one of the assistant coaches. I'm too lazy.

I actually thought about this towards the end of the regular season, but thought I was being weird to focus on "fashion" or if I was somehow being superstitious haha Then again, maybe the team being able to show their muscles gives them extra confidence

The sleeveless just look more comfortable to play in and it allows Kash to flex.

Who had KSC at =/>25 Ws for the season? She's already surpassed that. I was very happy with KSC's hiring, and very optimistic for the season once she started bringing in the New Penn Staters, but I'll admit, I had them at 21-10 or 22-9. My expectations were pretty high, I think, but she (and her staff and the team) surpassed them. I will let myself out. Just saw E repost an Ehman Tweet that KSC is only 1st year coach in the Sweet 16

Who had KSC at =/>25 Ws for the season? She's already surpassed that. I wasn't sure, but I was optimistic. I love Salima, and I would have been similarly optimistic if she had been hired, but I was really surprised at how different the reaction was to the hiring of Katie compared to if Salima had taken the job. If you think about it, they are both revered former players who laid the foundation for the recent run of success. The big difference is that Salima was an assistant for top, National Champion level teams while Katie was the head coach for a couple of teams that don't have the level of resources of a Texas or a Penn State. When Katie came on board as an assistant, it felt to me very similar to when Russ brought Salima back -- he was bringing back a dedicated coach who understood the expectations here and the long, hard road that got us to that unprecedented run from 2007 - 2014. I felt that if Russ put in the effort to bring Katie back, clearly it was because he was confident in her ability to help PSU to have continued success. I wish I had written down my expectations back in August to know for sure that I'm not just remembering with rose-colored glasses (no pun intended), but I was thinking back then that she would outperform the pretty negative things being said about PSU at the beginning of the season. I didn't like the loss to Michigan at home and the lopsided set and sweep by Nebraska, and I've posted about how I was pessimistic during the middle of the season, but seeing the team peak in November and get big wins over ranked teams going into the tournament had me thinking Coach Katie should be one of the top candidates for B1G coach of the year.

So for the team to exceed your expectations is a true accomplishment. They are finishing way above mine! Kudos to Katie and her staff. Over the longer term, much will depend on their ability to recruit both incoming freshmen and from the portal. It's becoming increasingly competitive with more quality teams in the hunt both within the B1G and beyond! Remember when PSU found little competition within the Big Ten! Then Nebraska came on board and the other teams grew stronger. Now the SEC is toughening up and Pitt and Louisville are powerhouses. It's a big challenge! Go getum' Katie!

I wonder if Katie Clark would have also been honored as All-Northeast had she played the entire season.
Our secret weapon who fortunately (but under unfortunate circumstances) got her chance to shine. She has been fantastic!
