From the WVB players I know, the chance to be the starter is better than any award. But, gosh, yes her #s are impressive. It also shows that simply getting a chance or two to show your stuff is different from being needed, trusted, and having to produce. She so stepped it up from the few times we saw her and she was a bit uneven. What a way to exit!

And Emily Ehman couldn't decide on the top 5 B1G players in the Tournament so far...so she picked both Katie and Allie for #4. Lol. It's up on Twitter, and probably on this site somewhere.

When Katie took over the coaching job and all five potential returning seniors left the team, I was resigned to a losing season this year and probably for s few years. So I very much see this season as a huge success and a great accomplishment for Coach Schumacher-Cawley. Congratulations to the entire coaching staff and especially to the players who pulled together to exceed expectations!

Who would have thought that KSC in her 1st year would get just as far in the NCAA Tournament as John Cook, Hugh McCutcheon, and Mary Wise? Jokes aside, wonderful job to Coaches Katie, Brian, Dan and this year's players. For a team that many said would fall out of the rankings, finish bottom third in B1G standings, and miss out on the NCAA Tournament.... The team stayed ranked the entire season, finished top third in B1G standings, and went to the Sweet Sixteen. All with a new starting lineup since KSC didn't inherit last year's starting roster. Against many odds, KSC's 1st year will be remembered as one of the more exciting seasons in recent years... not because this year's team was dominant, since they usually weren't... but because compared to recent years, Penn State has once again found how to be gritty and resilient.

Dibbs' 9th Beatitude - "Blessed are those who don't expect much, they shall not be disappointed".
While I pull for all Penn State teams to be victorious every outing, I try to be realistic.
This morning, I am extremely proud of the players, coaches and staff.
What a wonderful season!

I am so incredibly impressed with this group of girls. It was easy to think this would be a rebuilding season with the loss of Coach Rose and a mass exodus of starters, but wow did this group show grit.
It starts with Coach Katie and the new culture she has implemented. You could see these girls had FUN playing Volleyball this year whereas the previous few years it looked like the girls were not having as much fun. They also had a never say die attitude this year which was also not the case the previous couple of years where if it was going wrong they would fold.
While you could argue the past few years the teams had more individual talent there was zero leadership. Kudos to Maddy Bilinovic for being the emotional leader of this team and also for Allie Holland who was one of the only starters to come back and became a massive leader. The leadership on this year's team can't be understated and its encouraging to know both Holland and Bilinovic will be back next year.
We need to hit the transfer portal hard and I think after what was shown this year it is a really attractive destination for the top transfers. Go get a big time hitter and setter and lets get back to the final 4 next year.
