Should we take this as a message about status of setter and pins? I think it's a recognition that these players will be in the mix, and also make great ambassadors for Penn State Women's Volleyball. |

By the way, be very, very, very careful signing up to BallerTV. Their website is very, very, very misleading. For each level it gives an annual price, and then in parenthesis a monthly price. And it also says you can cancel at any time. But in reality, they only offer annual and quarterly subscriptions. I realized that after signing up and watching about four or five minutes of one of the matches. I then spent about 30 minutes in an online chat with their customer support to try to get a refund (I was willing -- though not happily so -- to absorb the one-month charge, but not anything above that). After the 30 minutes of back-and-forth ("would you be willing to keep the subscription if we threw in an extra three months free?" for example), and my saying twice that "this borders on fraud," they finally gave me a full refund. |

This open team tryout is a good experience for the participants but it is basically a money making scheme for USA volleyball. About 180 of the 200 players trying out have zero chance of making the Senior National Team.
Also the AM and PM practice waves used to be streamed free by USA Volleyball. Now they are on BallerTV (aka ripoff website).
