WEEK # 7 POLL: 10/10/2016#10 Penn State (prev. week - # 15) Record: 14-3 PSU makes it into the top 10, but lots of work to go. Gotta have a good outing in the next 2 weeks to earn it. Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota playing musical chairs in the top 3 for the past few weeks. Click on thumbnail below to view larger image

Yup, definitely looks like PSU will host the 1st round, at this point. As of today, the projected full season wins-losses record for PSU is 23-8.

As far as AVCA poll rankings and RPI... Texas always gets the benefit of playing in a weaker conference. I don't think they'd be ranked #4 if they played in the B1G.

Better focus on the next game than speculate what could happen in December.

Better focus on the next game than speculate what could happen in December. You all realize, of course, that predictions and discussions of future rankings is from and for the fans. I'm certain that the team isn't reading the volleyball forums or doing their own calculations of future wins-losses. The team has practices to look forward to during the week between matches, and we have these forums. If you're referring to the fans focusing on the next game, I'm certain that will have zero effect on the outcome.

Pablo rated PSU 3rd best. That's good to know. Pablo is probably the best indicator of where teams should really be ranked.

So great to see the steady climb, maturity, grit, and respect within the team. There is great volleyball being played all over the country, and we are lucky to have one of the best teams to watch every week. Quite the journey so far...

last year, we were able to see ballots. I cannot see them this year. If someone can, I'd be interested if 1) Coach is still voting, and how 2) who voted TX and PSU* #1. *bet it wasn't Coach.
