For my money if there was a draft and I had to select a player no question I would choose Micha. Hands down she has the tenacity and resolve to beat you silly. And that in my opinion is the reason Penn State fell short of the mark last year they had no one to pick up the flag and inspire the team to follow.

I think we sometimes turn our disagreement with the Wisky fans into disdain for their player. Lauren Carlini is a terrific setter and a strong competitor. While I was pleased that Micha won the starting spot and performed so well, I thought that Lauren handled her role gracefully, worked cooperatively with Micha, and contributed when called upon. Within the confines of a reasonable discussion forum, I'm more than happy to give ummmm... Lauren, her due. I'll try to internalize my frustration with Wisconsin fans for the time being. Alright then. Can't ask for more than that, don't you know. |

As I recall, at the core of much, or at least some, of the Glass/Hancock antipathy has been that they weren't "classic" setters -- they were hitters who were converted to setter. Consequently, they weren't (according to the argument) as polished as other setters such as WFS. One characteristic shared by Glass and Hancock is an unbelievable compete level. That's a concept that gets tossed around somewhat loosely, I think (like effort inflation: She always gives 100%; but that one always gives 110%! And that other one? 120% every time!!!). But in the case of Glass and Hancock, I think it's appropriate. Both absolutely, positively hated to lose -- at times they simply would refuse to lose. Maybe they weren't stylistically the classic setters, but they sure as heck got the job done. At the end of the day, it's about winning, and both Glass and Hancock were/are winners. (please PSUMAUI, reload the B1G 2014 season opener) five straight times! Match was never taken off YT. I just made them all "private" because someone started claiming they were his uploads by re-uploading them. He didn't even bother to change the titles of the matches when he put them up. I put a lot of work into editing and uploading those matches. Anyway, I just changed that one to "unlisted" so you should be able to watch it again by going to "Video Jukebox". I will do same with the rest of the matches in the next day or two. |

Somebody posted a link to a Flovolleyball interview with Micha. They mention her first run of aces against USC in 2011. Pretty cool!
Who was that poster on here that complained about the Flovolley interview with WFS? (oops!)
