I do believe Pitt is gonna be on the wrong end of the decimation I feel is comming down tommorrow. I really would have loved to be in that locker room at the break. I feel they prob got some words after match from rose also cause they didn’t play great. I wouldn’t expect a repeat of tonight. It could happen but I’d bet against it.

Team was not celebrating like normal, someone mentioned. Could that have affected them tonight? If you were the #1 team in the country and lost a set to Howard, would you be celebrating like normal? I'm wondering if the coaching staff had asked the team to dial the celebrations down and be more business like, which, if true, could have affected the teams normal routine and mentality. But that's all conjecture, so no big deal.

Whatever it takes to get business taken care of. This team is good but they don’t have that absolute stranglehold they can put on a match at will like some of past psu teams. Some of those past teams had beasts that can terminate at will whenever they wanted, everyone knew it was comming yet still no one could stop it. On this team, outside of Washington no one comes close to matching the efficiency of some of those past players. The last outside I can remember that had that skill was Ariel Scott. Their were a bunch on some of the teams before her. But she’s last I can remember. Grant was pretty good and so was Whitney but no where near the efficiency Scott had. From the time I picked up volleyball hodge was prob the best I have seen for psu.

Anyone explain what was going on with psu back row tonight. They have been pretty good for a long while now. I know they were facing a team that didn’t have all the heavy arms of the BIG. You think that threw them off or what? Just curious. Watching that second set I was thinking wtf is going on. Those balls were comming nowhere close to as fast to a lot of balls your use to seeing in big and they were finding floor. It was like everything was in slow motion and they still couldn’t get it. What’s up with that? That’s not the defense I’ve seen consistently last couple months.

But that's all conjecture, so no big deal. I can't imagine they would ask the team to change something like that during a 29-match win streak. Perhaps not. It's possible that the players themselves decided to tone it down. Coach Rose had mentioned things like respecting opponents and the game. Who knows? Let's hope the team draws the right lessons from the experience and dismisses any doubts as they move toward Kansas City.

Well is there any doubt why they lost to Nebraska at home it's called focus. And I hope that for the rest of the tournament they get it back.

Let's hope Coach Rose took them to a motel in Altoona after the game. That way, they may feel like the visiting team.

I thought we overdid it in the first set, took a breather in the second set. At the half Coach saw Lee was having an off-night and made a little adjustment and we closed Howard out in sets 3 and 4. Even though Howard wasn't a tall team, they were very athletic and made us work for our points. Our fans better get use to losing some sets because other teams have very good players also. Detering needs to set and hit better if we want to win it all.

Detering's play, particularly when she had hitting errors, reminded me of Micha at Stanford early in the 2014 season. The game was in doubt and Micha tried to provide a spark/win the game. Sometimes, Abby seems to try too hard. Maybe she'll reflect and realize that sometimes, she can help the team more by making better sets. It's gotta be tough on the players when the game flow doesn't match their expectations. The natural response for people is to try to do more. The key is in the "do."
