I really hate Nebraska. I hope whoever they play in the final beats them. I hope they turn into another Texas, getting to the final 4 and final match, but not being able to win it.

8 of 11 points off PSU errors in set 5 Waaaayyy too many errors this match. That one play near the end of set 4... I'm going to have nightmares about that mishap. Just like I've had nightmares about the two chances we had last year. We just can't beat Nebraska.

Kind of a freak play, IMHO. Tough loss, and Nebraska deserves alot of credit: they kept a ton of balls off the floor. But this one stings.

Cook takes the opportunity to call out the 6-2 as a potential contributor to the loss (and compared our use of two setters to his use of one). The question did relate to Hunter, so not really totally gratuitous.

I think it was their serve as much as our setting. But I'm no expert (he says, unnecessarily).

Lighten’ up folks! This was a bitter loss. Our women lost a five-set tossup match to a very good team. I understand and agree that this one stung. But, this team went 33-2 while playing a tough schedule. They were very close to winning this match as well. I’m sure that every member of the team feels awful tonight. They really don’t need disparaging remarks about their play coming from their fans.
I say, “Thanks for a great season of volleyball and best of luck to the seniors!”

I watched most of the match on my phone, then an I-pad. Couldn't get ESPN to stream to my laptop--the inconveniences of being away from home.
I thought PSU was going to pull it out in the 4th, being able to win a war after losing almost every battle.
Nebraska played a better game. Nevertheless, I don't feel as distraught as I did after the loss to Hawaii in 2015. Despite so many things going wrong, the team never gave up and they stayed a team--not breaking down and playing as individuals as things went south.
I don't know what next year holds.
I've really enjoyed the season on this site. We had a lotta growth not only in our membership but also in the quality and quantity of discussion. I hope everybody at least checks in periodically during the off-season and comes back for the 2018 season.
At least watching Saturday's final won't be as stressful as it might have been.
