Kentucky let that third set just slip away. I think the Huskers went on a 6-1 run to win it. Too bad for KY. Man, I would love having their setter, Madison Lilley, setting PSU the next 2 years.
This lusting after other setters, does the future trouble you?
You won't hear me complaining about who we have now, but I like a lot of players on other teams who I'd like seeing wearing the blue and white.
I think Lilley is an elite setter right now, and I think Russ can take her (or any player for that matter) to an even higher level.

Michigan comes back and wins set 2 29-27.
Micaya White went out with an ankle injury it looks like. She landed on an opposing players foot. Her momentum took her under the net. Hopefully she can come back. It doesn't appear to be a horrible injury, but could be bad enough to keep her out.

Yeah, I was thinking how nice it would have been to have Poultry for 4 years.

I believe that there are practical limitations which prevent us from getting all of the good players. Plus its fun to have good competition. Still, I share your respect for quality players on other teams.

Well, Minnesota bit the big one. Guess Hugh thought he was facing Brazil in London in 2012.

I feel like Hugh has not grasped the college player mentality yet. That's is, how to motivate them fully. He's an excellent coach regarding drawing up a game plan, but he needs to do a better job of instilling his players with grit and fortitude to eke out those big, close matches. Two years now that Minnesota has bowed out of the tourney much sooner than expected. I'm really bummed for the Gophers. Freaking Nebraska advances; I almost hope that Oregon beats them.

I gotta agree with you. I don't remember exactly, but I think it might be 3-4 years that Minn has not gone as far as they should. They don't seem to have the mental fortitude to come back from bad situations, mostly in the NCAA tournament. Really too bad as they have a really good team.

Wisconsin sweeps San Diego, 25-10 in third set. Wisconsin hit over .500 in all three sets. So far, the least competitive match.
This match was an outright beat down. San Diego lost their libero to a dislocated shoulder the other day.
How many teams have had a key player go down in the last 2-3 weeks? It's got to be 4-5 now. I don't remember this many injuries happening at this time of year before. Got to be rough. I remember Micha going down in 2012 when PSU had a good chance to take it all.

ILL up 2-1 over Wisconsin.
Ill won the serve/receive battle in the 1st hitting .515 for the set. Wisc only hit .400 something. Wisc won the serve/receive in the 2nd set still hitting .400 something. 3rd set was more even with ILL winning the serve/receive. Rettke getting a lot of kill along with Duello. Quade & Bastianelli getting their usual.
