We are certain Sandy Barbour is waiting for us to weigh in on who should be the next head coach for the Penn State Women's Volleyball team. With all the wisdom we post on this Board, how could she not be counting on us to show her the way?
So, submit your chosen candidate or candidates. You can post more than once. You can withdraw a name. Then put it back. We are very open in terms of process 👍🙌👍 The only rule for this thread is that only positive comments will be permitted. To clarify, an example of a positive comment is "I think person X would be great because they are really good at being great.". An example of a negative comment is "I want person Y because person X is really terrible and bad and not good."
Personally, I'm very interested in detailed replies that lay out why the poster thinks someone would be a good, or the best, choice. And as we said at the start, Sandy is counting on us. 😎😉😎

Glass is an interesting idea. She had a little time coaching the National Team and her experience as a hugely successful player both in college and the pros could be enticing to recruits.
Anyone know why Blair Brown stepped down at Buffalo? Also I see Kristin Carpenter left MD for an "opportunity" with her husband. Wonder if she might be a good fit. Then there is Dominique Gonzalez, who I think is an assistant as MSU. A great leader she.
I do think finding a woman to lead the program is a sensible approach.

All these girls have championships and know what it takes. Not bad idea. In browns case she never lost as player. They finished on top all 4 of her years. I like the idea of having all This awsomeness back on psu sidelines. With that being said, being on coaching staff and being head coach are two different matters. Out of the people listed assuming Rockwell doesn’t want to coach I would in my opinion prob have glass as my first choice for head coach. Don’t get me wrong I’d love fauwcett I just think glass has a little more experience as of now coaching

Brown didn't have much success in the MAC. Don't know if that's why she stepped down a few years back. She was a great player and I wish her well. But I don't think serving time in the MAC is good enough. (She was a great player; wish her well.)
We need a coach with a fabulous record. Wilson at GA Tech--with the run they had this year from seemingly out of nowhere--that's the kind of record we need. Glass @ Stan and USNT...that's it. Salima: That's it.

My personal order would be 1 Rockwell 2 Glass 3 Wilson. I think the others could be someday but they just don’t have enough experience yet Might be hard to find someone with a bigger trophy and award case then glass in her life. When we talk about someone who wins everywhere they go she comes close. All she has done her whole life is win.

Whoever it is, I really want Fawcett at PSU in whatever role is appropriate. I cannot stand the thought of her with the Buckeyes

If nyline wants this up help sandy I say this, please please please find a way to get her out of Ohio state in whatever capacity she could come back In. Those colors on her are just disturbing. That can’t go on

Hello everyone, just joined to add my 2 cents to the big news about coach Rose stepping down.
I think the next coach has to be great at recruiting and good at coaching.
Initially, I wanted to see the Pitt coach or the Louisville coach, but I now doubt either of those two would even apply for the job.
I think the Georgia Tech coach, M. Collier would be really good for the program, but I'm not sure the PSU AD would pick someone outside the family.
I would love to see Salima, and know she can recruit high level talent, but I don't think she'll come back, unless there is a boatload of money involved, and even then, I doubt it.
I liked Hughes from Maryland, I think he did some good things there, he's part of the family, and he can recruit.
I also like the thought of some former players, like Alisha Glass taking over, but the big question mark is whether they can recruit the best.
I feel like Haleigh Washington has the perfect personality to be a great recruiter. She and Adam Hughes from Maryland would make a good coaching duo.
That's all I had. Merry Christmas!

Why would you take head coach Collier from Georgia Tech when psu alum Arielle Wilson has been her assistant for 3 year. If your going after a GT coach she would be the one. Washington just started her national team career she’s not available now. Future maybe. That’s the same way I feel about Megan Courtney. I think if she wanted to coach she has the potential to be great at it but she’s still playing on national level also. Says Wilson has strong recruiting ties and is recruiting director for GT volleyball

I think if she wanted to coach she has the potential to be great at it but she’s still playing on national level also GT coach can bring over the entire staff, including Wilson. We know she can coach, but she also has a great Brazilian assistant coach. She also has a pipeline to high level Brazilian players. With PSU's pedigree, she could recruit high level U.S. based players; that is, more easily than at Georgia Tech.
