We should all be asking what is going on with PSU volleyball......ALL the seniors were offered their extra covid year....none of them took it. Coach retires.......The one person that was destined to take over PSU..Salima .....doesn't take it! Do you think Coach is talking to perspective coaches and saying.......Don't take the job because of x,y and z? ......Could the players still there be the issue? Is there something bigger going on??? Who has the scoop? Please take your nonsense to VolleyTalk. I feel I need to take texvbdad3's side on this. There is clearly something rotten with the PSU WVB program at the moment. The lack of planning and transparency are appalling. NDAs will probably keep the true story from coming out, at least in the short term. And why the hate for VolleyTalk? There is a lot of good information there and even nyline, Sandy Barbour's biggest booster, posts there.

Please take your nonsense to VolleyTalk. The lack of planning and transparency are appalling. Please explain. Personnel matters are NEVER transparent. Candidates usually don't want their current employer to know that are looking and talking publicly about terminations will usually get you sued. "Transparency" is misapplied when it comes to personnel matters. What examples of lack of planning can you cite? You really don't know anything about how the hiring process is progressing or how it will conclude.

Everyone is entitled to vent -- message boards would disappear without venting -- but there's alot of storm and fury about this hire, and I think it's really misplaced.

I'm really hoping for a 'hold my beer moment' tomorrow per some speculation on Volleytalk that 'I don’t think psu fans will be disappointed is all I’ll say' & 'If the rumor is true they really got it right'. Both by highly rated and in the know posters.
Fingers crossed!

I am hopeful many of us will be pleased -- though I have no inside information on who the choice will be. I've been saying on VT that 40% of VT posters will be guardedly optimistic about whomever is chosen, 40% will be decidedly negative, and 30% will say "Something about this doesn't add up." Proving that Penn State Women's Volleyball fans give 110%

I am less concenred about the hire than the circumstances of Rose's resignation. If Rose wanted to leave the program unprepared for his departure, what exactly would he have done differently than he did?

The issue with VolleyTalk is the amount of vitriol that is spewed throughout that board. This board has always been respectful and is dedicated to Penn State fans. That's why it is a much more rewarding experience to visit here.

It seems clear who they are hinting at...which I would be thrilled with (unless some posters are just messing with us).
Still, the Salima news is a gut punch.

I'm happy for Salima -- I didn't think she wanted to go back into coaching, but obviously, the package that ND offered was enticing. I know ND very well. I like State College alot more than ND, but ND is very impressive. Having said all that, I don't think Salima was among Penn State's top choices. Based on the rumors I'm hearing, I think that was wise of Penn State. If the rumors are true (and I don't know that they are, but I believe they are) I think PSU fans will be very pleased. Until the new coach is announced, I hope people will chill a bit. Actually, I hope they will chill alot.

First of all, "Buckeye for life" ? LOL Second, happy for Nic! She is a great coach and maybe one day she'll be on the PSU bench in one way or another... good to see the pipeline of coaches get stronger.
