Always with the backrow players! Darcy Dorton and Prieto-Cerame transferred out.
Yes, Dyksra had been with UCLA.

and at the same level as Quillico, Fatima Balza transferred to PSU in 2009 from Western Nebraska for her final 2 years. i recall her being a critical force in 2010 championship win. She didn't always start but Rose often put her in and she never seemed to disappoint him.
BTW, i've wanted to share this all season: Creighton's Jaeli Winters is my dream transfer. 4.04 K/set; 2.4 digs/set. First saw her play v KS St where she had about 26 Kills.
Of course, now that Creighton is doing so well in the RPI, there would be less reason for her to leave.... and i have no evidence she's ever considered doing so. just thinking that another conference would present a bigger better stage.

The comment about PSU not getting transfers got me wondering. Who, if anyone, has transferred into Penn State from another program in the last fifteen years? If anything we lost several big name players over the last couple years: Darcy Dorton Prieto-Cerame Not sure if those players would be game changers, but they did transfer out.

Dorton was NCAA Freshman of the Year in 2009. She suffered a knee injury the following year and transferred after the 2011 season. Prieto-Cerame went to Texas. I think she still has one year of eligibility.

Skylar Dykstra? Wasn't she with UCLA? Yes, she was an incoming transfer but she only stayed one year (2014) and wasn't very effective. I guess I was referring to game changers when I mentioned transfers coming into PSU.

I am not as depressed as seems to be the dominant theme here. I believe the players will come out fighting as they have their level of pride and almost certainly in their careers have faced bad performances and learned to deal with them in a positive manner.

They fought last night.. . The whole match. (Just pushed and pulled at wrong times) That hasn't occurred much at all this year. Am I the only one who noticed this.

True, but it seems that other schools like Wisconsin and Texas get transfers coming in all the time. PSU rarely. Maybe they need to start looking at that route, as more and more schools are getting verbals from younger and younger recruits. Having said that, I do realize that bringing in recruits is like signing free agents in pro sports. They change the dynamic of the team, and not always in a good way.

I liked that they didn't give up and fought hard in the 3rd set, which is important for a team with high aspirations. I'm just not sure they have the talent and/or experience in ALL the positions to get past a really good team, but I do have hope!

Balsa was a game changer, but she did not play in the 2010 semifinal or final. Arielle Wilson and Katie Slay played middle in those matches--against Texas and California.

I loved that third set. Hadn't see that emotion since State almost pulled out that second set against Minnesota. Before that? The Stanford win. That third set was the first time I had seen it consistently. Hey, it's something to build off from.
