Back to recruiting. There's a report on VT that Amanda Phegley, 6-4 MB from Gainesville, Fl has verballed to Penn State. There does appear to be some confirmation here but that's all I could find in a Google search. Not listed on Rich Kern or anywhere else I could find. So, I'll leave this in the "unconfirmed" category for now.
It's confirmed, check her twitter: @phegleyamanda per her tweet reply to @jennahampton Wonderful news! With Jenna at libero, 2018 will be an exciting year

And, that's the kind of recruit that makes other top players want to join the team!

the AVCA site has the Under Armor awards posted. PSU shows a first team (Krause, listed as a setter) and Kendall White on the second team, for a total of 2.
If i'm counting correctly, Stanford has 4, count 'em 4, first team picks, including teammates from a school in KS. the 4 include 2 6'6" players, one MB one S.
MN did quite well, too. Looks like McCutcheon's last few years are now paying off w/a bumper crop of recruits.
MD seems to have a BIG boost; but NC did really well, including a 6'5" setter.

I'm thrilled about PSU's reprise on "Sister Act." But couldn't they be pin hitters?

I agree that 2018 will be our year to get some top recruits! We will be our strongest in 2016/2017 with our current Freshmen and will have 1 year of Bryanna with the 2018 Freshman class. Remember people, even though you may think MN and some of the other schools are cleaning up next two years, we still have possibly the top recruiting class of all time with 2 more years of seeing them play after this year!

I really like this thread. The Recruiting Matrix is how I found and started following this website. Can't wait for next year. PSU will have 4 Setters to battle for a spot (Weiskircher, Rivera, K. Krause, and Demure). Should be an exciting year. Will miss Megan and Aiyanna, but I'm excited to see what the newcomers will bring. I forgot to mention that we will have 2 legitimate Liberos to battle for a spot (Holcomb & K. White). As they say, competition breeds success/excellence.

I'very been surprised before, and have no inside knowledge, but I'll be surprised if Krause competes for the setter position for any extended period. I also can't imagine Weiskircher losing her spot to any of those players.

What I don't see on the horizon is someone like A. Scott or Aiyanna Whitney--someone that can simply go over the opponent's block. It would be unfortunate to become fans who talk about how we lead the country in digs. Digging is good, but it seems that what you call teams that lead in digs is "also-rans."
