Gabby comes from St. Joseph Academy in suburban St. Louis. St. Joseph is a traditional VB power and has won many state championships and produced many D-I players, including four-time AA Kristin Folkl who won three national championships at Stanford.

Gabby #13 in White(no sound). I noticed that she likes to go to the opponents right back corner a lot for soft kills

Now is the time to appreciate our players by packing the Rec Hall for match on August 28th. +1. This could be a really memorable year. The front row could be as good as PSU has ever had including the Fawcett/Harmotto years. They have overwhelming physical power but also such a great variety of attacks and styles, good experience, and very smart crafty hitters. If the setting is good, if they can get the block and the back row defense figured out, if they get good passing -- granted it's a lot of ifs -- this front row could take them as far as they want to go. I have to admit it is hard for me to work up a huge interest in VB recruiting because you end up talking about players who are high school freshmen in some cases -- and it feels almost creepy to be talking about high school freshmen. Have to hope and trust that RR will continue to get great players because players tend to come to Penn State and really blossom.
Did you know Gabby Blossom was going to commit?

I just checked twitter with #psuvb for fun and I found something interesting about some PSU verbal commits. Anybody know these girls? They revealed on their twitters that they are verbally committed to the program.

Kaitlyn Fattizzi Rachel Black Kaitlyn Fattizzi listed from Google search for "Prospective Student Athletes Bay Area Volleyball" as a 5-8 2018 OH. Rachel Black listed on Max Preps as a 5-9 2018 from Calvert Hall, MD. In a recruiting video, says she plays RS.

In 2014 Emily Sciorra trained with Virginia Elite’s two libero coaches, Alyssa D’Errico (Penn State) and Melissa Caldwell (Virginia). I wonder if this had any bearing on her picking Penn State. I would think it didn't hurt. Although she moved from Virginia Elite (D-Errico) to Metro American (as in American University) last year. And D'Errico has moved to a coaching slot at Louisville! Not sure if i had seen that yet.

I'm starting to wonder if our 2015 recruiting class may be vastly under-rated. Novakovic, Rivera, and Gorrell all came from championship teams I believe but were not recognized by Prepvolleyball site since they are all foreign players and have flown under the radar of the media. If I am right this could be a problem for the coaching staff since 4 starters return from last year and competition for the two open spots is furious. The fact that the coaches will play all the ladies this weekend indicates that the situation is very fluid and players will be trying to impress the staff and fans probably even more than usual. In addition the coaches need to find adequate replacement servers for Gonzalez, Fuller, and especially Hancock, who have all graduated. Buffalo may think they ran into a buzzsaw.

I think that may be right. It was interesting that Coach Rose said in the Media Day Press session that a couple of the freshmen were progressing well (my words -- I don't remember precisely how he put it) and that another one had been out for a few days, or something like that.

I see dinged up as hurt(bumps and bruises), not injured.

If I am correct Rose doesn't play freshmen in the first match of the season unless they are on a fast track to getting lots of playing time. Rivera appears to be even better than I had hoped for and may be winning the setter position. To me that means she could be a four year starter and the success just keeps coming. Do you think a team could have too much talent?
