Another upset in the B1G. Iowa just defeated Purdue 3-2. That was a shocker.

Another upset last night. #12 Hawaii lost to Long Beach State 3-2. Long Beach is not ranked in the top 30.
I think PSU will slip into that #12 spot just fine come Monday's AVCA poll.

OSU appearing in the remake of Ray Milland's Lost Weekend.... loses to both Michis. Wow. Beat NE to get run out of MI on a rail.
BTW...did you know there was an actual WAR between Ohio and Michigan, way back when? Known as the Toledo Wars. Look it up....

#10 WSU just got swept by #20 Oregon.
Set 1 = 25-21 Set 2 = 25-10 Set 3 = 25-14
I'm now thinking that PSU slips into the #11 or even #10 spot on Monday in the AVCA poll.

I do believe PSU women have shown themselves to be a Top Ten team at this point! This is going to be one interesting season this year!!

Another huge upset today. #7 Stanford just got beat by (unranked ~27th place) Utah 3-1.
I really cannot see how that doesn't push Stanford 10-4 below PSU 14-3. PSU definitely a top 10 ranked team now.

PSU definitely a top 10 ranked team now. Let's be honest Stanford will be fortunate to be a top 25 team by the end of 2 to 3 weeks. Hodson is a massive loss. This was a loss at Home for Stanford. Looking at their schedule this will begin a progressive slide downward. That doesn't mean they won't be dangerous in November, I just think the turmoil and schedule ahead will bring some rough times.

True. Imagine if PSU were to loss Lee? Ouch!! I'm not sure if they'll regress too much, though, because the PAC-12 teams, IMHO, are not that competitive this year (compared to years past). But for sure Stanford will have another 2 losses before the end of the conference season.

Top Ten for PSU maybe a little too much to anticipate. Need to win a few against some more challenging competition.
By the way have you all noted that assistant coaches seem to be spending an inordinate(historically that is) amount of time going to the sideline after nearly every point. I believe that Minnesota lady was up after every point. Why is this so different from the past when it was rare for that much transport to line and bench? Fascinating that the Minnesota lady would do it also right after a break and a huddle with the team.

Interesting observation! Compare it w/Coach's comments at the presser after the win v MN: asked if/what he had done to orchestrate the comeback in set 4, he said something along the lines of ... it's not me and Hugh moving the pieces on the chess board. This is the girls grinding it out. We did our best to create the best match ups, but the rest is up to them...
I think over the years he's been happier letting players play when it's game time.

#26 Arizona defeated #12 Stanford yesterday 3-1 at Stanford.
Looks like Stanford is spiraling downward without Hayley Hodson.

#14 Michigan State (at home) just beat #3 Minnesota in 5 sets.
Looks like upsets are becoming the new norm in the B1G and PAC12.
