Maybe the time for domination in the sport has passed. For me that is good news as the sport can only profit from wide spread competition.

Unranked Oregon sweeps #8 Washington, in Seattle, and wins Set 2 25-8. Makes Penn State's 25-13 (25-14?) win in the 2013 NCAA Semifinal match look like a nailbiter.

That 2nd set was a huge wake up call. What happened to UW? They totally collapsed there. I was sooooooo tempted to post something snarky on the VT thread about the Oregon match, reminding them of the 2013 NCAA semifinal match, particularly as I read through all the posts about the Oregon setter taking too long on her serve, and then having a Washington fan post that they weren't saying the delayed serves were the "only" reason UW lost. Hey, when the main thing you're talking about after a match is that the opposing team had a server who took more than 10 seconds to serve, you just had a very bad match. Full disclosure: in the early days of DigNittany, I took alot of cr*p from UW fans. They were only a few years removed from their national championship -- close enough in proximity to make them feisty, far enough in the past to make them bitter. FWIW, I generally like tomclen, although his "cupcake schedule" routine is waaaay old.

And.... ?

And the greatest player of all time, Krista Vansant (we were told) got them where? She got a nice trophy for POY. No rings for her girls.

The Huskers just lost to the Gophers in a 5-set thriller in Minnesota. #1 vs #2, what a match!!!! An instant classic! No doubt, the 2 best teams in the country.
Huskers took the first 2 sets and looked poised with match point to sweep. Gophers fought back and won set 3 by a score of 28-26. They then killed the Huskers in set 4 to send it to a deciding 5th. The Gophers won set 5 by a score of 17-15. It was a crazy back-and-forth set.
The NCAA better have these 2 teams on opposite ends of the bracket.

I'm hoping for a three-way tie for first place and PSU winning out for sole possession of 4th place.
