Upset alert: Stanford lost to UCLA last night 1-3. Inky rolled her ankle in warmups and didn't play. When interviewed, UCLA coach Sealy thanked Inky for helping them win. Fitzmorris was the only really good offensive player for Stanford.
Stanford losses are starting to become the new norm. I think I'm going to post only their wins from now on.

So sad for Inky. Did Sealy's comment sound as tone deaf to you when hearing it as it does to me reading it? Almost sounds like making fun of an injury.

I was following that one in set 1 and saw Stanford way ahead late in set so I figured they were going to easily beat them. Guess I was wrong.

I felt bad for Inky, not so much about her injury, but that in her final year Stanford is not in a good position. The loss of Hodson was huge, akin to PSU losing S. Lee. Not sure about Sealy's intent; I didn't actually see the interview. I only paraphrased comments made by people on VT. I originally understood it to mean that Sealy didn't think his team had the quality to beat Stanford, had Inky been playing. But who knows, you could be correct. One person said it was a classic Sealy interview, whatever that means.

Poor Husky fans, that team reminds me a lot of Wisconsin (lots of hype/hope throughout the season, but always end with a fizzle). On another note, (another upset to report) #19 Ohio State lost to Maryland in 5 sets last night. RampageRipster says he's giving up on tOSU, he's sick and tired of them losing to mediocre teams. I think it's just the curse/hex of his PSU hatred catching up with him.

His "hate" thing gets a bit old, but it is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Compare Rampage's loyalty through thin and thinner to that of some Penn State WVB fans (none on this board) who after the three consecutive losses early this season had thrown their hands up, basically disavowed the team, and were close to starting a "Rose Must Go" chant. I'd take Rampage every time.

I'd take Rampage every time. That's all true. I'm in complete agreement. I don't mind Rampage at all, I actually think he's quit funny. I cannot help but tease him at times. I much prefer to converse with fans who stick with their team through thick and thin, rather than have fans jump off the band wagon at the first sign of failure. Now, let's hope this weekend doesn't turn into a bandwagon hopping event.

I'm totally dazzled by Sandbothe and some of the other talented players at OSU...but on nights like last night, they seemed to get frazzled and inconsistent. Most of all, i'm glad we have a Russ Rose and not a Carlston at our helm. I have less and less patience watching OSU coach's sideline antics.

#6 Kansas beat #2 Texas in 5 sets tonight.
Looks like the top 3 rankings are going back to the B1G on Monday.

#16 BYU swept #5 San Diego on Friday night.
I think the top 5 rankings on Monday will look something like this: 1) Nebraska 2) Minnesota 3) Wisconsin 4) Kansas 5) Texas

Couple more upsets this week, as posted by vballfreak808 on VT:#8 North Carolina lost to Pittsburgh 2-3. #13 Michigan lost to both Purdue (1-3) and Indiana (1-3) this week. Sure makes our loss to Michigan seem even more disheartening.#20 Oregon lost to Arizona 2-3. #19 Ohio St lost to Maryland 2-3. #24 Illinois lost to Iowa 2-3. Read more at volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/66235/top-25-results-oct-24At least these upsets are a source of consolation to us, that on "any given night" anything can happen. At least our latest losses came against 2 of the top 3 teams.
