"Had to dig to resurrect this thread. Anyway...Where do I start??" I had to post over on VT with such a good weekend by Penn State! Exciting stuff. Now let's see how long it'll take certain posters to post enough to bump the PENN STATE 2017 thread off the first page! Happens every time. 😂😂😂 Read more: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/67181/penn-state-2017?page=22#ixzz4sP5SsegI

I love what you said, so i pasted it below... I know, I know. It's early. But to claim two wins over Stanford in eight days is nice. The 6'6"-6'8" block was a mountain but not an insurmountable one. To out block Stanford 20-12 is notable! Then Washington picks up B1G POW for last week's competitive road weekend. Now Frantti picks up the B1G POW for this competitive road weekend. Lots to be encouraged about with Penn State!Read more: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/67181/penn-state-2017?page=22#ixzz4sPAFCseE

AS of 11:30 AM EDT on 9 September, there hasn't been a posting on a PSU-named Volleytalk thread since 3 September. Â Not a single post about the PSU-Colorado game! Â That's the first time in five years I haven't seen a thread about a PSU game. Is this a bad thing? Â I can think of a good thing, I haven't read any anti-PSU trolls in almost a week. (there was a mention of the "Imperial Dynasty" on that long-running Stanford thread) Should we care? Â Is it a bad thing that PSU isn't being represented on Volleytalk? Â Should we draw lots here on DigNittany to select members to make obligatory posts? Many DigNittany members have brought their Volleytalk names onto this site. Â Their posts on Volleytalk have markedly decreased over the last two years. Â There are other PSU stalwarts whose names aren't among the DigNittany participants. Â Are they here incognito? Â I don't know the answers or have any recommendations. Â To me, it's an interesting development and I'm not a shrinking violet when it comes to posting. Â Happy Saturday. Â Hoping for a successful day in Happy Valley and Huff Hall. I must blame you, gnu2vball. My curiosity piqued, I tentatively entered the match discussion thread on veggie tales (vt). The sweat convo, the "know-it-all" sophomore poster, the 80/20 share of Stanford/PSU comments. It was excruciating to the point that I was ready to tear out my eyeballs and eat them for betraying me by subjecting me to such vapid content. Thank you, again, nyline, for creating an exclusive PSU discussion board. I like how "above the fray" the comments typically are here.

I'd have thought an Army veteran was made of sterner stuff. I'm glad I didn't tell you about the existence of meth, heroin, or pornography--although Volleytalk has certain soul-crushing aspects that have sucked many into its vortex of moral and intellectual depravity. Perhaps Nyline's slacker staff includes a legal department that might craft a disclaimer for me when I mention Volleytalk?

I think it bears repeating: At this point, all the credit -- as in 100% -- goes to posters and VSFPs (visitors sans frequent posting) who make this community a community. Until you guys and gals showed up, conversation was limited. Thanks to you.

Appearing on a VolleyTalk thread about big disappointments of 2017 turned up this post. Check out #4. Post by vbprisoner on 5 hours ago There have been a lot of disappointments so far for the 2017 season! Below are my top 10 Disappointments compiled from the home office in Dallas, TX 1. My PTW results through week 7 have been beyond disappointing. (I could have had my dog pick them and get same results probably, but I am still above c4ndle...... damn, the bar is low this season!) 2. hautehomme / RumbleinRio / #smove / etc. not changing his name to ILoveCarlini! for 60 days after losing bet on Nebraska / Texas final 4 match. (still waiting) 3. Rampageripster trying to mail it in......the honeymoon is over and it's obvious his wife no longer allows him the freedom to hang out in front of his computer with a bottle of bourbon and type / spew PSU hate, and B1G weekly updates! 4. Lack of Penn St. fans participation this season even when they are top 5 - when's the last time a Penn St. thread was on page 4 or 5 during the season before 2017? No boofism posts,....even MTC has been quiet. 5. Hell, even tomclen seems to be mailing it in this season, or he is too busy building a wall around his house to keep the right wing out. 6. ay2013 has become soft in his posting - probably only phishstixed one or two people off in 2017 so far. (I'm hoping, for entertainment purposes, he closes the season strong) 7. bigfan's digs per match against Texas is at an all time low. You could always count on bigfan for a nice Texas dig or backhanded compliment every other day. 8. Nebraska's fans are staying on their threads and the hijacking epidemic of 2015 and 2016 seems to be contained, but now it's boring without a big red antagonist to fire up Wisconsin, Texas, PSU, and PAC fans. 9. MIA for 2017 compared to past seasons - (R)uffda - I figured with Gimmillaro no longer voting his post count would go down, boof - good for a laugh on every post, holidayhusker - he seems to be quarantined in the political forum, BiK - did he get banned for the season? & the usual Hawaii fans that argue among themselves on their thread that brings a chuckle. 10. Last but not least....... the ACC being replaced by the AAC in conference strength! What a messed up 2017 season!!!!! I wish I had a dog in that fight... No, I really don't. I like DigNittany. It's a welcome break from the knock-down, drag-out fight known as "social media" posting.

I see no benefit in wasting energy trying to argue with people who are certain they know better than I. I always feel that on this site I can admit when I don't know something (which is pretty much everything) and yet be treated kindly. Sincere appreciation for the courtesy, kindness and patience.

Hear, hear! That goes double for me! (2 times nothin' is nothin'). I'm twice as ignorant.

So the philosophical question: If VolleyTalk was already a land of waste how could a spontaneous boycott by those who enjoy this site make any real difference? (Like I said, I can admit when I don't know something)

(Like I said, I can admit when I don't know something) One person's take: Prior to this site's existence, Volleytalk was the only game in town. It wasn't all bad. On the PSU threads one at least "met" others who shared PSU affinities. Generally, PSU-related threads were on page 1 or 2. All PSU games had threads and many of the threads went quite a few pages. It is fun to go back and look at the old threads. It's easy enough to do. Go back and look at some of the final four threads for 2013 and 2014. Always good to know who the good guys and bad guys are.
