FWIW, we are also #1 in Pablo and Rich Kern's poll. I happen to think Pablo is a terrifically accurate system.

What they're saying on VolleyTalk now: vawbaw Freshman Posts: 69 #1 Penn State vs #9 Wisconsin - Wed. 10/25 - 7:00 pm 7 hours ago via mobile lionsfan likes this Post by vawbaw on 7 hours ago Just saw the dignittanylions ProBoards forum! Wow, no wonder PSU posters hardly post on Volleytalk anymore. I love how the creators of your forum pay to remove the ads. I wonder if the mods for Volleytalk canโt afford the $5.99/mo. There are pages and pages of great analysis, insights, and lack of trolling from the typical PSU trolls on this website, and it seems like a wonderful online resource for your fans, players, and recruits. I kind of want to start a ProBoards forum dedicated to Minnesota volleyball today! Weโre a growing bunch, and we would likely have more meaningful conversations without the bullying and sidetracking so prevalent on Volleytalk! "Typical PSU trolls on this (VolleyTalk) website." My feelings are hurt.
But maybe they're not talking about me? Any thoughts?

"Typical PSU trolls on this (VolleyTalk) website." My feelings are hurt. But maybe they're not talking about me? Any thoughts? Why would a PSU fan troll PSU fans? If there have hardly been any PSU posters on VT what does typical even mean? To answer you question, though, I think we've all trolled someone at some point on VT. Really you can't help it, it's a peer pressure or culture thing on VT.

I see trolling on VolleyTalk as a way to "give back" to the community.

I feel part of the current issues over on VT are that some of the moderator's over there allow some posters to flame individuals without any action against them because they side with the flamer. These same moderators attack/warn those individuals that are flamed when they try to defend themselves. Yes, there are some Penn State posters over that that cause their own issues but some do not and are attacked with a mob mentality that knows that there will be no negative consequences from their comments. I've also seen this happen with fans of teams other than Penn State. Some moderator's themselves personally attack those that they don't agree with.
What I'm saying is that some moderators need moderators for themselves and thus in some cases these particular moderators are creating a toxic environment on different threads by adding fuel to the fire. The extreme example of this from moderators can be found in the political threads. Me, for the last couple of years, I rarely comment on VT and when I do it's just mostly to give information about a particular match. When I first started being active on VT back around 2008 (I think), you never saw moderators do this, at least I didn't. Don't know why it has changed and why Odin allows this behavior from some of his moderators.

My take from the post is that the "PSU trolls" are the PSU haters who Troll the PSU fans. One way to look at it.

The moderator who moderates it has a political agenda and uses his position to promote it and quash any disagreement with his positions and agenda. Before I was banned, I complained about it to the powers that be, but never received a response.

A strangeness on Volleytalk is their Moderators moderating contentious issues when they've already expressed opinions, while wearing their moderator "hats." It turns out that the word "moderator" has a different meaning for these individuals than it does for me. I've brought it up to them and been pretty much ignored. Consequently, I've stayed out of certain areas and I find that I'm a lot happier.
On this site, politics is a subject I hope we can avoid. I'll do all I can to keep this a politics-free zone.

Everything about Veggie Tales (VT) makes me wanna rip out my eyeballs n immolate them whenever I venture over there. The politics page, especially, is overflowing with bile n vitriol. Disgusting.

Reminds me of this: Doctor to patient: "What seems to be the problem?" Patient to Doctor: "Every time I swing my right arm, it hurts like heck." Doctor to Patient: "Don't swing your right arm."

I genuinely appreciate and enjoy the people who post here. So out of concern for the health of my friends, may I respectfully urge those with the habit to join a 12 step program and avoid reading things that might induce you to self harm. Among other issues, it would be pretty hard to read the sage observations of Dignittany posters if one tears one's eyeballs out (BTW eyeball immolation seems like overkill but I gather that hyperbole was intended to emphasize the point?)
