When I hear Lipscomb, I think of a defensive end that played for the 1958 Baltimore Colts. His nickname was "Big Daddy" and he died of a heroin overdose, but I digress. Where is Lipscomb University(?)? I think they appeared in my "volleyball" consciousness two or three years ago. What conference are they in? And as long as I'm on the subject of "who's that?", what's IUPUI? IUP used to be Indiana University of Pennsylvania.... Regarding Florida? Maybe. Maybe they're not as good as I thought because Texas and Nebraska aren't as good as I'd thought. C'mon folks, Post! You aren't going to watch the lame-O NFL, are you? I'll go! Lipscomb University is located in Nashville, TN, affiliated with United Churches of America and competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Watched a bit of their match against Wisconsin and observe they are a scrappy defensive team. That likely explains them taking a set off Florida. Plus, cancelled competitions, and emotional distraction of the weather events could have affected the Florida players. It's football season? Lipscomb's in Nashville? Damn! I'm just south of there. Thanks for the information. I'll have to look for their schedule next year; maybe start encouraging them to pair with Vanderbilt to host PSU and someone else for a pre-season tournament. Uh oh... Vanderbilt, an SEC member, doesn't do Volleyball. Hmmmmm..... gotta be an angle somewhere.

Because otherwise there would not be enough Purdue to go around... Yeah! Why would anyone want more than one Purdue? At least PSU hasn't felt the need to clone itself all over the Commonwealth.

I just saw that WVU has an 11-2 record. Colorado enters the PAC-12 season at 11-1. Our pre-season schedule looks better in the rear view than it did going in. Let's hope for continuing Mountaineer and Buffalo success.

You were near the top a couple weeks ago, if I recall correctly. Volleytalk's MTC won last week. He's mostly a PSU fan. Good times for the good guys.

Well, console yourself knowing that skill didn't win.

Nice. I just downloaded this. Looking forward to seeing the chinks in Minny's armor. Someone needs to pass it on to Russ Finally saw this match in its entirety. Very fun match to watch; tons of crazy-long rallies with all kinds of defensive plays. Couple things I noticed: 1) Both teams played tremendous defense, very scrappy. 2) The Boise St. libero is really good 3) To beat Minny, we need to slow Samedy down (because no one is going to stop her) 4) Minny suffers from the same thing this year as in previous years - they don't have very high kill efficiency %, they rely a lot on their defense. 5) Our hitters need to terminate well and we need to pass well in order to beat them (which we've been doing fairly well this season) 6) Finally, we need to serve tough to keep them unbalanced (again, several players have had a lot of success serving this season)

Defense and quick terminating along with tough serving will win the day! Let me know what you think of this Nebraska match with Omaha. I would have loved to see the Nebraska match with UNI but like the 1st Stanford match with Penn State, there was no video. From my view of this match, I see Omaha losing it more than Nebraska won it; especially in set 1. I've included the post match press conference at end of video (Omaha).
