Nice to see 4 of our gals making the VNL final 25 roster.
Note: Team USA can designate 14 players from the above roster to compete in each preliminary week and the Final Six. Rosters can change each week upon discretion of the coaching staff.

Looks like the US will be the host on June 4, 5 and 6 in Lincoln again. Courtney is Libero again.

Mary Lake is also on the roster as a libero, but it's only them two. I suspect Courtney's passing is the best of all the other liberos who tried out, and passing is what wins games in Karch's system (digging, not so much).

Absolutely agree that Megan's passing is what led to her being moved to Libero. More accurately, Orantes' poor serve receiving and passing was a prime motivator too. Your comments about the US system are quite interesting. Compared with teams like Japan, the US does not do much digging at all. But the team emphasis on blocking notwithstanding, it is clear that getting balls up is a big deal for all of the "blocking" teams. Micha is slightly better than Carli Lloyd in that phase of the game, which could get her more floor time.

All four made the final roster for the first round. One surprise is the two setters will be Micha and Poulter. Maybe Lloyd is injured. Maybe Micha beat her out. It's starting to look like Cheesehead Jesus has been kicked to the curb. First Round Roster

First Round RosterNot sure about getting kicked to the curb, but Carlini is still playing for Novara in the Champions League so prob why she was not chosen for the first few weeks. Hill, Lowe and MBH are playing as well.

I am interested to see how Poulter does. Karch likes to use the double sub so she is likely to get some playing time. It is difficult to get in rhythm as the second setter under Karch's system. Micha always does much better as the starter.

Please consider that Luddites still exist. Telling us what the link is would be appreciated.

US swept Belgium. Set 2 was 25-8.
Poulter started and played all three sets-Micha apparently did not get in. Neither did Simone Lee or Haleigh Washington. Megan Courtney played all 3 sets as Libero and was credited with a 43% positive reception stat (not fully clear on what that means).
We will see what Kiraly does against Japan next.

I expect Hancock and some of the vets to start against Japan. Will be an interesting match, which I expect to go to 5 sets.

I finally bought a subscription to FloVolleyball TV. Last year FloVB was giving me problems and I couldn't sign up. I like the English commentary, rather than listening to some foreigners blab.
